Yasir Shafiq
PhD Student

Yasir Shafiq is global health researcher from Pakistan. He brings extensive experience in the field of public health both in research and implementation and been working for vulnerable communities in Pakistan. His focus os research is maternal, neonatal and health (MNCH). He is doing PhD candidate at Department of Translational Medicine and Center for Research and Training in Disaster Medicine, Humanitarian Aid and Global Health at Università degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale “Amedeo Avogadro, Italy.

He is currently Research Intern Newborn Team at Global Advancement of Infants and Mothers, Department of Paediatrics, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and a visiting Graduate Student at Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, department of Global Health and Population, at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. In Pakistan, he is holding a position of Senior Instructor Research at the Center of Excellence for Trauma and Emergencies, the Aga Khan University.

Yasir’s current research is mainly focuses on MNCH care during complex emergencies, mainly intersection between conflict, climate-change, and pandemics or epidemics.
